Josh has a broad civil practice which extends to all areas of commercial and public law.
As a lawyer at the Australian Government Solicitor, Josh acted for various Commonwealth departments and agencies in disputes in the Federal Court, State Courts and Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
He was previously Associate to The Hon Justice Dowsett of the Federal Court of Australia.
Experience as a lawyer includes:
> Acting for the Commissioner of Taxation in a transfer pricing dispute in the Federal Court against an Australian subsidiary of the multinational mining and commodities company Glencore Plc concerning the sale of copper concentrate from the CSA Cobar Mine in New South Wales.
> Advising the Commissioner of Taxation on transfer pricing and Part IVA disputes against various taxpayers.
> Advising and acting for Comcare, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, and the National Disability Insurance Agency in various disputes related to Commonwealth entitlements.
> Advising and acting for various Commonwealth agencies in general administrative law and judicial review matters.
> Appearing in bankruptcy and insolvency applications in the Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court.
