Expertise
Our barristers’ experience in challenges to and defence of the decisions of governmental bodies and agencies is broad and spans the breadth of Chambers’ practice. We act on behalf of and against Commonwealth and State Agencies, in the Federal and Supreme Courts, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal. Our members can deal with urgent matters requiring speedy pre-action advice, and preparation of paperwork to tight deadlines.
Our members provide advice and assistance to a wide range of Government bodies and are regularly instructed by Government departments across Queensland and the Commonwealth. Several of our barristers have been appointed to Government panels and our members include a former solicitor employed at Crown Law and in private firms with administrative law expertise. This in-depth knowledge and experience at the coalface, gives us a practical understanding of the operational needs, political demands and public scrutiny to which government bodies are increasingly subject.
