Our members’ experience in challenges to and defence of the decisions of governmental bodies and agencies is broad and benefits from the breadth of Chambers’ practice. They act on behalf of and against Commonwealth and State Agencies, in the Federal and Supreme Courts, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal. Our members can deal with urgent matters requiring speedy pre-action advice, and preparation of paperwork to tight deadlines.
Our members are able to provide advice and assistance to a wide range of Government bodies and are regularly instructed by Government departments across Queensland and the Commonwealth. Several members have been appointed to Government panels and our members include a former solicitor employed at Crown Law and a former principal lawyer in the State Government servicing the Department of Natural Resources and Mines and the Department of Energy and Water Supply. This in-depth knowledge and experience at the coalface, gives us a practical understanding of the operational needs, political demands and public scrutiny to which government bodies are increasingly subject.
