A sentence was imposed by the Magistrate. An order was made by the same Magistrate to reopen the sentence. On the reopening the Magistrate determined that his sentence was a nullity and then imposed a new sentence. The applicant contended that the process was irregular and the decision to reopen amounted to an error of law.
