CIArb are taking reservations for the seminar ‘Party Appointed Experts in International Arbitration: Asset or Liability?’ which will focus on party appointed experts as discussed and examined by distinguished speakers. As with domestic litigation, the use of party appointed experts in international arbitration is widespread. Their use comes at a significant cost, and brings the challenge of the maintenance of their independence and their cost-effective deployment in the proceedings. The guest speaker is Prof Doug Jones AO who will discuss developing international best practice regarding case management techniques designed to maximise the value to the parties and Tribunals of party appointed experts. The seminar will be followed with an interactive Q & A session and networking drinks. The seminar will be chaired by Shane Monks and commentary will be provided by Shane Doyle QC.
