Matthew Hickey appeared (instructed by Minter Ellison) for a hospital, in a coronial inquest into the death of ES, a 87 year old woman, in circumstances where she had been administered an “excessive” dose of morphine by her friend, an enrolled nurse.
The nurse informed her colleagues that she had insisted in ES’s death, in a conversation in a tea room at the hospital at which the nurse was employed. The nurse was said to have described herself as the “angel of death”.
