Alumina and Bauxite Company Ltd v Queensland Alumina Ltd [2024] FCA 43: This case concerned the Applicants, Alumina and Bauxite Company Ltd, seeking declaratory and injunctive relief and damages for alleged breach of contract by Queensland Alumina Ltd (QAL). The Applicants alleged that the refining and delivery of alumina was not a contravention of the Russia Sanctions, and that QAL had breached its contractual obligations by ceasing the supply and delivery of alumina and bauxite. The Court held that The Amended Originating Application be dismissed, and the Applicants pay the Respondents’ costs.
