Cross-applications by a defendant and two third parties to strike out parts of the other’s pleadings. The proceedings arose out of an injury and subsequent financial losses suffered by the plaintiff, a professional rugby union footballer. The second defendant, an insurance broker, arranged insurance cover for the plaintiff. It did so at the request of the third parties, who acted as the plaintiff’s player agent.
Nola Pearce appeared on behalf of the second defendant, instructed by HWL Ebsworth.
