The Coroners Court in Queensland examined the death of British motor racer Sean Edwards who was tragically killed in a Queensland Raceway crash in October 2013.
Deputy State Coroner John Lock handed down his findings, determining the fatal accident happened after a mechanical failure, rather than simply worn-out brake pads, affected the car’s braking system. Mr Lock said no driver or coaching error contributed to the tragic accident. He accepted the vehicle had been well-maintained and serviced regularly. He said he was unable to ascertain the cause of the mechanical failure.
Michael Trim appeared for the mechanics who had undertaken some work on the car, instructed by Clyde & Co.
