A police officer refused to answer questions under direction from the Commissioner of Police in a disciplinary interview, claiming the privilege against self-incrimination. Amanda Stoker appeared for the Commissioner, successfully arguing that the privilege against self-incrimination was abrogated by necessary implication of the Police Service Administration Act 1990 (Qld) and the nature of a disciplined police service. Special leave application before the High Court of Australia pending.
