The Downs and South West Queensland Law Association (DSWQLA) has announced the date for its highly anticipated annual Ladies in Law Luncheon. Taking place at the Blue Mountain Hotel in Toowoomba 1200-1530 Friday 1 September 2023, the event promises to be an engaging and inspiring gathering of those showing their support of those who identify as female working in the legal profession. Attendees will have the opportunity to network, share experiences and gain valuable insights about practising in law as a woman.
Joanna Jenkins, trained lawyer and author of ‘How to Kill a Client’, will be one of the event’s special guests. Prior to becoming an author, Jenkins was a partner in an international law firm, was the first person to work part-time after having a baby at one of the firms she worked at, and at another was for a couple of years the only female partner at the Brisbane office.
For a third consecutive year, Level Twenty Seven Chambers will be one of the Ladies in Law Luncheon sponsors. The gesture is a mark of the set’s continuing intention to promote diversity and equality in the legal field, create an inclusive environment in aid of fostering professional development, and maintain connections with regional Queensland lawyers, DSWQLA being the state’s oldest law association.
