This case concerns an appeal to sanctions imposed by the Australian Government in March 2022 against Russia and certain Russian businesspeople, pursuant to the Autonomous Sanctions Act 2011 (Cth) and the Autonomous Sanctions Regulations 2011 (Cth). The Federal Court considered the construction of the two sanctions before holding that none of the eight grounds of appeal raised by the appellant had been made out. The appeal was dismissed.
