The applicant was the liquidator of an incorporated legal practice, which had carried on business as trustee. The Law Society had appointed receivers to the regulated property of the practice. The trust instrument provided that upon liquidation, the company would be automatically removed from office as trustee. The applicant sought and obtained orders appointing him as receiver and manager of the assets and undertakings of the trust.
