Kristi Riedel, instructed by W W C Lawyers, acted for the applicant who commenced proceedings in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia against his former employer, seeking inter alia a declaration that his employer took adverse action against him when it terminated his employment because he refused to perform a task on the grounds that it was unsafe. The Court found in favour of the applicant and awarded him compensation, interest, superannuation and ordered that part of a penalty imposed upon the employer be paid to him directly.
