In November 2023, Travis Dawson commenced proceedings against the State of Queensland seeking relief under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2010 including damages and aggravated damages for alleged reprisals. This case concerns an application by the State for orders striking out various parts of an “Amended Statement of Claim” filed on 6 September 2024 or, alternatively, the provision of particulars. This was the fifth attempt by Mr Dawson to create a pleading. The court ordered the “Amended Statement of Claim” to be struck out. Mr Dawson has leave to replead.
