An appeal of an application to stay civil proceedings (involving claims under the Public Interest Disclosure Act and the Industrial Relations Act by the former CEO of the Logan City Council) pending the determination of criminal charges brought against the respondents in the proceedings after the evidence in the civil trial had been heard but before closing submissions had been made.
The Industrial Relations Commission refused to grant a stay of the IRC proceedings and an appeal was dismissed by the Industrial Court. In these proceedings the appellants sought to challenge the decision of the Industrial Court.
Michael Trim appeared for the appellant, instructed by Gadens.
