Dos and Don’ts in the Courtroom is the second instalment of the three-part Queensland Young Lawyers × Level 27 Chambers 2026 seminar series, which follows the lifecycle of a trial. Participants are welcome to attend the full series or individual sessions.
What will the seminar cover?
His Honour Judge Porter KC of the District Court of Queensland, together with Florence Chen and Jonathan Hohl of Level Twenty Seven Chambers, will present in conjunction with Queensland Young Lawyers on the topic of “Dos and Don’ts in the Courtroom.” The session will be held in the Banco Court and will provide an engaging and practical evening designed to demystify courtroom advocacy.
The interactive session will include a mock court proceeding, followed by a Q&A, where attendees will hear directly from an experienced judge and barristers about the realities of court practice. This is a unique opportunity to step inside the courtroom and gain firsthand insight into courtroom etiquette, advocacy skills, and common mistakes practitioners should avoid.
